11 Kentucky educators selected for 2022-2023 Innovative Teacher Cohort – Kentucky Teacher

Chart that reads: Announcing the 2022-2023 Innovative Teacher CohortThe Kentucky Innovative Learning Network (KY ILN) announced the selection of 11 educators for its 2022-2023 Innovative Teacher cohort on October 17.

The teachers were selected from a pool of applicants from across the state who are part of KY ILN’s 43 member districts. KY ILN is a partnership between local school districts and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), providing a shared professional learning space for educational leaders.

Educators in the pilot group will create innovative experiences related to the three big ideas of the United We Learn vision—creating vibrant learning experiences, accelerating innovation, and building a bold new future with communities.

The members of the group of innovative teachers 2022-2023 are:

  • Maria Belen Morera de PazEdythe Jones Hayes High School (Fayette County)
  • Amy NewsomeJames D. Adams Middle School (Floyd County)
  • Bryan QuillenFairdale High School (Jefferson County)
  • Meagan RalphSouth Marshall High School (Marshall County)
  • Melanie RameyPaintsville Elementary School (Paintsville Independent)
  • Morgan SeelyPainted Stone Elementary (Shelby County)
  • Tina SharpNorth Jackson Elementary (Barren County)
  • Molly TurnerAuburn School (Logan County)
  • Kathleen WalkovicLuhr Elementary (Jefferson County)

Those in the innovative teacher cohort will be offered professional learning opportunities, teacher leadership opportunities, and innovative ideas for developing and implementing projects to directly impact the learning experiences of Kentucky students.

Any Kentucky district committed to implementing educational initiatives such as personalized learning and interested in furthering their conversations with a dedicated peer group can join KY ILN by completing an ILN Commitment Letter.
