EAST WINDSOR, NJ — The 9th Annual Hightstown and East Windsor Latino Festival will be held on September 17th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Hightstown High School.
The festival is a multicultural community celebration featuring music, dance, arts and crafts, food and vendors. It will bring together artists and ensembles from across the Tri-State Area, including live folk and folk music and dance traditions from various Latino communities in the region, including those originating in Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.
Featured artists this year include Mariachi Campero, Costa Oaxaca dance troupe, singers Juve and Gustavo Andres, Nicki Denner Latin Jazz, and cumbia and salsa groups Sonora Dinamita and Latin Brothers.
“We are holding this year’s event as part of Hispanic Heritage Month and are excited to engage an amazing group of Latino artists to share their rich cultural traditions, creativity and passion,” said Carlos Fernandez, member of the organizing committee. of the festival.
The event is being hosted by the Hightstown and East Windsor Latino Festival Organizing Committee in collaboration with RISE Community Services.
Through the festival, organizers hope to increase awareness and understanding of Latin American and Caribbean cultural traditions and promote strong community relations.
“This year’s program will once again recognize leaders and volunteers for their significant contributions to the well-being and success of the Hispanic community with the Rise Heroes Award,” said Juan Cobos, co-founder and co-chair of the festival.
This free event is accessible and open to the public, with free parking available at the high school.
