The native of Rio presented her album ‘Lentes de âmbar’ during the months of July and August outside Brazil
After shining in an international tour through New York (USA) and the cities of Portugal, during the months of July and August, the Brazilian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Christine Valença returns to Brazil, but already with plans to return soon to new shows . both in the US and Europe. The native of Rio de Janeiro received a great reception from the public when she presented her debut album “Lentes de âmbar”, released in 2023. The repertoire includes original songs from her CD, which range from styles and sounds of different: going from French music to rock, visiting MIA and folk, as well as spiritual and Latin rhythms. "They were beautiful, musical and intense days. It was great, I want to come back soon!"she says.
Available on the main music platforms, the CD “Lentes de âmbar” was born from mourning, between 2019 and 2021, after a series of painful events. “I had to deal with mourning the death of my father, I faced a very painful breakup and then the pandemic came, bringing with it a sea of uncertainty. This chaos awakened in me an urgent need to release this vortex of emotions. When I realized it, I had my guitar in my hand, I was composing, I was trying to save myself using music as a kind of shield. I wouldn’t have survived if it weren’t for these songs,” she emphasizes.
Christine is also an actress and dancer. Music comes from birth, but his passion for art began precisely in the theater. As an actress, she played Judy Garland in A Star Is Born and starred in the Canadian musical production A World Apart. Since then, she began to compose and invest in her singing career.
Possessing a unique timbre, carioca cannot be pigeonholed into any type of style. It can be said that she creates her own style, full of personality and in her music she brings references from her life story and inspirations.
“Lentes de âmbar” contains 11 tracks recorded at Estúdio 86 (Rio de Janeiro), with production, sound engineering and mixing by Elísio Freitas. The title “Amber Lens” has a special meaning. “I have always liked amber as an imager. It is a color, a tone, a natural resin, an alloy and a fragrance. And the lenses are about these multiple universes that we can perceive through amber, in the same way that each song offers a new angle from which to observe the world,” she explains.

At the age of 12, he began playing the piano and composing his first song lyrics. At the age of 16, he joined a band as an instrumentalist and backing vocalist. Throughout his career he has played in several vocal groups. She also plays the guitar. In his quest to move and crucify people, he found his voice to be his ultimate means of expression. He participated in musicals in Rio de Janeiro and abroad, taking part in several artistic residencies on stages around the world.
In 2023 he released his first album, "Amber lens"which was well received by specialized critics and was shown in Brazil and Portugal.
