Halifax Public Gardens will be closed all day.
Halifax Public Gardens will be closed today as Halifax Regional Police investigate a suspected act of vandalism.
As posted on the Halifax Public Gardens Twitter account, “it appears that an individual or individuals entered the gardens last night and damaged many trees with an axe.”
The popular park near Spring Garden Road will remain closed today.
Halifax Regional Police say the investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) toll-free. Online tips can be submitted here.
