TODAY we celebrate the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the first press institution in the region of Barra da Tijuca and the surrounding areas.
Founded on September 3, 1998, under the name Associação da Imprensa da Barra da Tijuca, with the objective of guiding, gathering and training its members, as well as the quality of instructions, printing, distribution and presentation, AIB became an example of an institution respected and admired by its members and society at large.
Among its founders we have Manuel Lopes, Afonso Campuzano, Clóvis Miranda and Liana Gomes.
Focusing on the valorization of the professional category of the journalism class, AIB created several training courses, culminating in the creation of the AIB Press Trophy, today the main Journalism Award in Rio de Janeiro and one of the most important in the country, which aims to recognize , evaluating and honoring major journalistic works and programs, and more recently, including continuing entertainment. Journalists Flávio Fachel, Ana Paula Araujo, Genilson Araujo, Tim Lopes, TV Globo, RECORD Rio, Actress/Actress, Juliana Paes, Caio Castro, Marcello Novaes, Giovanna Antonelli, Adriana Esteves, Cleo Saucer.
In these twenty-four years of existence, AIB created the news portal aibnews, equipped with a news machine. In the social field, AIB created the Carlos Fernando de Carvalho Social Responsibility Trophy, aimed at NGOs that distinguished themselves in social action with their communities.
In 2019, AIB was renamed Associação da Imprensa do Brasil, expanding its operations throughout Brazil, expanding its borders, as well as including new categories of members, such as YouTubers, Influencers, columnists, etc.
In 2022, AIB will hold the 13th edition of the AIB Press Trophy on 14 November at 19:00 at the Sheraton Rio Resort Hotel on Avenida Niemeyer.
