Ăli Sulman, is a 30-year-old Syrian with a degree in English literature, fluent in English, Portuguese and of course Arabic.
Due to war conditions and hardships in his country, he was forced to leave his dreams and family behind.
He didn’t think twice when a cousin suggested he come to Brazil, where he arrived in 2016 as a refugee.
“When I arrived, I was very happy to see a beautiful country that embraces everyone,” he says.
Apart from literature, Ăli is very fond of fashion and design, but while his documents were not ready, he survived by selling food in a subway station in Rio.
Passing by the place once, designer Hermes Inocencio found himself attracted by the attitude and exotic beauty of the 1.90m young man.
Knowing his history, Inocencio not only saw a new ball, but also the opportunity to fulfill a social role.
