Angostura rum exports rose 29 percent in the first half of fiscal 2022. –
Angostura has reported a 21 percent rise in profit after tax for the first half of the fiscal period ending June 30.
In its consolidated financial statements released Wednesday, Angostura said its profit was $67.6 million, up $12 million from the same period last fiscal.
Angostura earned $261.4 million domestically as the bar, hotel and restaurant trade recovered in the second quarter. Internationally, revenue rose 29 percent, from $137.8 million to $178 million.

“This performance was achieved despite sustained pandemic-induced changes in purchasing patterns, global supply constraints and geopolitical shocks that have resulted in challenges with logistics, transportation and widespread inflationary pressures,” said chairman Terrence Bharath.
“Despite market volatility, rising inflation and external shocks that will continue for the foreseeable future, the group has a positive outlook for the rest of FY 2022. We are confident that our performance will continue along this current trajectory with the support of stakeholders and the continued dedication of our employees,” said Bharath.
