Are you the green thumb your friends go to for gardening advice? Consider making it official by becoming a Colorado Master Gardener with training from Colorado State University.
Colorado Master Gardener applications are open from September 1st through October 16th. Apply to cmg.extension.colostate.edu. Applications will be reviewed by Douglas County CSU Extension Office.
The Colorado Master Gardener Program is a unique intersection between university horticulture expertise and community volunteers interested in local education using research-based horticulture information. Volunteers are hands-on in educational school gardens, help grow food for local communities and answer questions from home gardeners.
Initial training includes 15 classes focused on Colorado’s unique soils, plants, climate and gardening challenges. Learn more and apply at cmg.extension.colostate.edu.
If you want specific information about gardening in Colorado but don’t have time to volunteer, mark your calendar for November when early bird registration opens for CSU Extension’s “Green School,” which includes access to 14 online classes with independent rhythms, including direct. weekly review with experts on CSU issues.
Visit the CSU Extension website for more information and registration.
