Ava Galleria Rio presents the exhibition “Arte no Outubro Rosa”, bringing nationally known artists and high school students from CEFET Maracanã to show the importance of art as an instrument of awareness.
The show wants to convey cultural and artistic diversity as a transformative agent in people’s health and quality of life.
Ava Galleria Rio presents the exhibition “Arte no Outubro Rosa”, with works by national plastic artists and, in particular, students of the visual artist and art teacher at CEFET Maracanã High School, Ana Paula Lopes, showing that art also contributes to this awareness campaign of which. The main objective is to alert women and society about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer.
The exhibition, curated by Edson Cardoso, can be visited from October 22 to November 13, at Fábrica Bhering, second floor, from Wednesday to Saturday, from 12:00 to 17:00.
One of the highlights of “Arte no Outubro Rosa” is the interview that student Maria Victória Marquezini did with her classmate Victória Ramos, who discovered the disease at the age of 13. Now, at the age of 18, Victória tells about her experience: “it was difficult because I was a child, but I tried to take it as a joke so as not to succumb to the disease, that was my opinion.” Victoria also talks about the importance of music for her treatment, including during surgeries, revealing the importance of art in your life.
In the interview, the maturity, confidence and optimism with which Victoria faces the disease is impressive, as well as the impact that the family, the prejudices, the distance from home to the hospital have had, interrupting her nights of sleep. Victoria surprises with her gentleness and relaxed smile, leaving the message of the importance of self-care, body perception, understanding of our inner strength and that life, no matter how much adversity it presents, is worth living.
The work developed with the students of CEFET Maracanã aims, as Paulo Freire said, “to bring the debate to the stage and, based on the experiences of the group, to activate the creative potential of each one, respecting and valuing the differences”.
Among the artists are Adriano Antoine, Adilson Barbosa, Ana Lucia Ometto, Ana Paula Lopes, Andréa Gomes, Angela Vielitz, Avi Netto, Alzira Chaloub, Cal Backer, Carla Senna, Daniele Bloris, Deborah Netto, Eliete Vilela, Fernando Gribim, Gabri, , Henrique Hammler, Itamar Xavier, J Figorelle, João Alto, Lemuel Gandara, Luah Jassi, Mara Estela, Marcus Amaral, Mario Marques, Marcello Cortes, Marcelo Duprat, Marcelo dos Santos, Maria Amélia Fonseca, Marlene Nezafalezar, Petti, Paula Rocha, Pedro Diniz Kubtscheck, Rosa de Jesus, Siomara Almeida, Teresa Asmar, Tiago Sansou and Wal Andrade.
The partnership of CEFET students with the AVA gallery makes it possible to further increase the work that has been done, both in terms of evaluating the work of public school students, from different parts of Rio de Janeiro, and in creating a bridge between school. and the city. The exhibited works will be for sale and the money will go both to the students and to the Arte Vida Arte project, which AVA Galeria realizes with the children of Cidade de Deus.
