Bago T10 Cricket Blast returns in April

The second edition of the Annual Chief Secretary’s Bago T10 Cricket Blast is set for April 8-16 at the Cyd Gray Sports Complex in Roxborough.

The tournament was first organized in 2019, but has not been organized for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Navin Stewart led Rainforest Rangers to victory in the 2019 event, which also featured Buccoo Reef Divers, Little Tobago Islanders and Fort King George Gunners.

The 2022 edition of the tournament has been given the green light and the Draft will take place on Tuesday.

A total of 20 players from Tobago and 14 players from Trinidad will be available for the Draft.

Players available from Trinidad include current T&T Red Force captain Imran Khan along with current players former West Indies player Denesh Ramdin.

Khan led Steelpan Strikers to victory in the Trinidad T10 Blast on Friday in Tarouba.

All four franchises have already announced their retained players for the 2022 tournament.

Navin Stewart will reprise his role as captain for the Rainforest Rangers and will once again play alongside Ancil Nedd, Josh Telemaque, Brandon Mark-Browne and Kevon Samuel.

The Fort King George Gunners have promoted Kieshawn Dillon to captain and have also retained Joshua James, Jason Persaud, Antonio Providence and Shaquille Duncan.

Dejourn Charles is the new captain of the Little Tobago Islanders, who have retained Renaldo Lezama, Adrian Alexander, Akel Quashie and Leron Lezama in their ranks.

Jahron Alfred, who played for Steelpan Strikers, remains the captain of Buccoo Reef Divers.

The Divers have also retained Duane Murray, Ako George, Arnel Jones and Anthony Providence.
