A confident Barbados U-17 team left the island yesterday for Trinidad and Tobago looking to register a hat-trick of titles in the West Indies Cricket U-17 Boys’ Regional Tournament which begins tomorrow.
Barbados, who are the defending champions having won the title in 2018 and 2019, will be led by Christ Church Foundation in-form spinner Nathan Sealy, who is also a capable middle-order batsman.
Sealy, 17, who will feature as replacement for Queen’s College all-rounder Zion Brathwaite, will have two outstanding bowling performances in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Elite/Division One Super50 Cup.
He took six for 23 in nine overs against Weymouth Police and followed up with outstanding figures of 9.3 overs, four maidens, seven runs, seven wickets (9.3-4-7-7) against Carlton at Desmond Haynes Oval. (EZS)
