What is the match?

Barbados Royals take on Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2022 Caribbean Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to take place at 10:00 local time (GMT-5) on Tuesday, September 7.

Where is the match played?

This game will be played at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Saint Lucia.

Who has the form?

Barbados Royals have made a perfect start to the CPL, winning their first two matches. They defeated the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their opening match, winning by seven wickets.

Last time they were away to St Lucia Kings. Rahkeem Cornwall, Kyle Mayers and David Miller helped post 162 for 7 from their 20 overs. Rain reduced the Kings’ target to 103 in nine overs, but they fell by 12 runs.

Trinbago Knight Riders got off to an ideal start, defeating Kings themselves by three wickets. Set 144 to win, they were indebted to Tion Webster’s 58 and Tim Seifert’s 34.

But they have been unable to build on that result, seeing their clash with SKNP abandoned without kick-off due to bad weather.

What is the match to watch?

It will be the battle of the spin openers with Cornwall and Sunil Narine looking to give both sides a good start at the top of the innings.

The two go about their business in opposite ways – Cornwall uses power and brawn, while Narine is more about finesse and technique. Either way, it will be fascinating to see them try to give their sides the ideal start.

They each top-scored for their respective teams in the last-66 semi-final, which TKR won by three wickets.

Cornwall (150 strikes) is the man in form, however, having entered the CPL on the back of a fine 660. His run of scores was 25, 21, 36, 39 and 32 and there is every reason to think he can continue that form in a new field, now the tournament has moved to Saint Lucia.

What’s the news from the camps?

There is good news and bad news for the rested Knight Riders, who have a selection dilemma ahead of what they hope will be their second game.

Colin Munro is available after joining from The Hundred, having been part of the winning Trent Rockets side.

But there is an injury concern surrounding Akeal Hosein who is recovering from a nasty fall in the opening match. He went scoreless against the Patriots and it remains to be seen how TKR balances their 11th.
