Beach House stages successful mini-carnival

It was a joyous celebration of music and color for guests of the Sea Breeze Beach House, South Beach and O2 Beach Club & Spa hotels as South Beach once again held its annual mini carnival event for the Crop Over season.

The event, which has become very popular over the years with hotel customers visiting the island in time for Barbados’ biggest cultural festival, has become an integral part of the cultural experience for these visitors.

Sea Breeze Beach House General Manager Leroy Browne stated that the event organized last Thursday was designed from the beginning to provide an authentic local experience for visitors.

“Minicarnivals are annual wait event, purposely created to give our guests a taste of the festival, the food, the drinks, the colours, the music, the costumes and of course the people.

That’s why our staff is encouraged to be a part of it. This year, we deviated from our traditional street dance through the neighborhood to a carpark jam,” he explained.

Browne went on to add that the feedback from guests continues to be encouraging, with many showing how tuned in to the festival they really are.

“The response from the guests was wonderful. I walked into the property the next day and one of my guests with a very British accent came up to me and said “do you want Mauby”? That alone told me that our event was a huge success.

We have guests planning to come back at the same time next year just to be a part of it.

We are very excited about planning next year, happy to be back after two years of restrictions and very satisfied
to add to the overall Barbados wait experience.” (SB)
