Bicyclist Killed In Fatal Felony Hit-And-Run In Newton Division NR22283jc

South Los Angeles: On September 29, 2022, at 11:00 p.m., a bicyclist was traveling northbound on Wall Street when he was struck by a white commercial panel van traveling westbound on 61st Street. The driver fled the scene. without stopping to give first aid and without being identified. There is no description of the driver.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. The identity of the bicyclist is pending identification by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Department.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white 1996 to 2022 GMC Savana or Chevrolet Express commercial panel van with a roof rack and duct holder (storage tube or roof box). The van likely has front end damage.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and established a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to members of the community who provide information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the offender or settlement through a civil settlement.
