Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) and SKYEXCH 6IXTY will work with schools and child-focused charities to bring children even closer to the action during the 2022 tournaments.

Up to 2,000 children will be invited to attend free of charge, allowing them to come and watch world-class cricket and take part in a unique, fun-filled family occasion. With up to 100 youngsters taking part across the five days of SKYEXCH 6IXTY and for games across the Hero CPL and Massy WCPL, it will be a great chance to inspire the next generation to fall in love with cricket.

In Saint Lucia and Guyana, Hero CPL will work with Republic Bank to bring young cricketers involved in their 5 for Fun program to play a game on the field during the interval between innings in the 10am matches. This fantastic opportunity for young players will give them a chance to walk the pitch in international stadiums.

The Samuel Badree Sports Education Academy and the Daren Ganga Foundation have been involved in planning these activities as Badree and Ganga aim to inspire the next generation of Caribbean sports stars.

Samuel Badree, former West Indies cricketer, said: “It is so important that we bring our young people into the world of sports, I have seen firsthand as a player and educator how sports can change the lives of our children. The Samuel Badree Academy of Sports Education is delighted to be working with the CPL and their associated tournaments to include all these great initiatives.”

Daren Ganga, the former West Indies captain, said: “This is a great initiative and all of us at the Daren Ganga Foundation are delighted to be involved in bringing youngsters to these matches. I know that when I was young, watching cricket was inspirational to me and helped fuel my ambition to become a professional cricketer. What CPL has created is an opportunity for the same to happen for these boys and girls.”

Chris Watson, Chief Marketing Officer of Hero CPL, said: “We are delighted to be able to partner with organizations across the Caribbean to bring children closer to the action than ever before. These initiatives combined with the great family activities we will be running at these select matches will make these games truly the biggest family celebration in sport.”
