The hotel sector in Brazil closed 2021 with an occupancy rate of 43%, 16.5 percentage points higher than in 2020.
However, compared to 2019, the sector is still declining. In the pre-pandemic period, occupancy was 60.2%.
The data was published on Thursday (15) in the study “Hotelaria em Números 2022”, carried out by JLL in collaboration with the Forum of Hotel Operators of Brazil (FOHB) and Resorts Brasil.
This year shows signs of improvement as demand picks up, but a full recovery is not expected until 2023.
