Brazilian Ilan Goldfajn is the favorite in the IDB election, according to the government

Members of the government of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) estimate that Ilan Goldfein has the best chance to be elected president of the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank).

The elections will be held on November 20. If he wins, he will be the first Brazilian in this position.

The deadline for countries to submit nominations closed at midnight on Friday (November 11, 2022).

Here are the candidates:

Cecilia Todesca Bocco (Argentina);
Gerard Johnson (Trinidad and Tobago);
Gerardo Esquivel Hernandez (Mexico);
Ilan Goldfine (Brazil);
Nicolas Eyzaguirre Guzman (Chile).
