Brazil’s agro exports up 36.4% in August to US$14.8 billion; corn at historic record high

Amid rising prices and volumes, agribusiness foreign sales hit a record $14.81 billion in August, up 36.4% from the same month in 2021.

Foreign agribusiness sales accounted for 48.1% of Brazil’s total exports.

Imports of agricultural products were recorded at 1.68 billion dollars, the highest value in the historical series that began in 1997.

The value was 34.5% higher than the same period of 2021.

Leading value and volume for all months, including August, were corn and fresh beef, soybeans, soybean meal, fresh chicken and pulp.
