On Monday (December 19), Balneário Camboriú, a beach destination for Brazil’s rich and famous on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, experienced flooding due to heavy rains.
Data from the Municipal Civil Defense shows 100 millimeters of rain between late Sunday afternoon and early evening.
In the last 24 hours alone, it has been 42 mm.
The warning indicates that rainfall will continue during this period, favoring high accumulated amounts.
The agency is monitoring the situation and warning people in areas where flooding or landslides have occurred in the past to be vigilant and call 199 if necessary.
