Brooklyn fete kicks off carnival and Labor Day weekend celebrations

Mayor Eric Adams and elected officials attended a party at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on Sunday night to kick off carnival celebrations planned across the city on Monday.

The party lit up Brooklyn’s waterfront and drew thousands of people from all over the city.

Excited residents arrived in colorful outfits and even brighter vibes.

Adams came out briefly to greet everyone during the party.

The party came ahead of citywide celebrations of Caribbean culture and just hours before the highly anticipated Labor Day parade.

Other elected officials also joined in the festivities to remind New Yorkers why the holiday was important.
