Washington, DC (Sonic Solutions) – This past weekend, lovers of Caribbean culture from around the world gathered in Washington, DC for the lively and highly anticipated Hookie Weekend 2024. The event, held June 13-17 featured the most music, entertainment, food and fellowship of the Caribbean, attracting thousands of attendees who celebrated the region’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
Highlights of the 2024 production of the celebrated 5-day, 6-event festival include a critically acclaimed set by Soca artist Preedy during Thursday night’s ‘Release Therapy’ kick-off party.

This was followed on Friday by another high-energy edition of the weekend’s main event ‘Hookie DC’, which featured an engaging atmosphere and energy that highlighted the party’s ‘Eye Candy’ theme alongside memorable performances from Soca stars , Nadia Batson, Nailah Blackman & GBM Nutron which set the tone for the rest of the action-packed weekend.
The celebration continued on Saturday with Hookie Weekend attendees getting down and dirty with oil, paint and dust at the early morning ‘Lion’s Pride J’ouvert’ affair.

Saturday night turned into a pulsating nightclub experience with Shine DC produced by Back to Basics Entertainment/Hokie Life Entertainment, which featured an all-white theme and internationally renowned DJs.
The weekend of festivities culminated in the innovative Sunday afternoon ‘Riddim & Road’ experience, which gave some masqueraders an opportunity (and for some another opportunity) to hit the road in costume and indulge in the ultimate fun.
Hookie Weekend 2024 ended in true Caribbean style at the official ‘Oasis’ festival event which took place in a new venue, the spacious Citizens & Culture Lounge.
A representative from Hookie Life Entertainment said: “We are delighted with the success of Hookie Weekend 2024. Our aim was to create an immersive experience that celebrates Caribbean culture and the overwhelming response from attendees shows that we achieved just that. Plans are already underway for Hookie Miami which takes place during Miami Carnival 2024 this coming October, as well as Hookie Weekend 2025 which will take place from 19th to 23rd June 2025 and promises an even bigger and more spectacular party .
