Carnival Beats Suit Over Arm Wrestling Injury in Trivia Tiebreak

Carnival Corp. beat a passenger’s suit over a broken arm suffered in an arm wrestling match meant to settle a petty contest, when a federal judge in Florida said the risks of injury were open and obvious.

Hunter Smith said he played sports a few times during a weeklong cruise on that one Carnival glory in 2019. After tying for first place with another competitor, the two were instructed to arm wrestle.
