After crossing the Atlantic Ocean with no guests on board, Carnival Conquest arrived in Cadiz today.
Set to dock at the Navantia shipyard, the Carnival Cruise Line ship will now undergo scheduled maintenance and class work at the Spanish facility.
Before it resumes service next month, the 2002-built cruise ship will also get a new Carnival look.
Created to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary, the hull design is highlighted by a navy-blue hull inspired by officers’ uniforms along with red and white accents throughout the ship’s length.
After returning to North America, Carnival Conquest will resume its regular schedule of short cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean on October 10.
Departing from PortMiami twice weekly, the 2,974-guest ship offers three- and four-night cruises to popular ports such as Nassau, Bimini, Princess Cays, Cozumel, Key West and more.
The first in a series of five ships known as the Conquest-Class, the 110,000-tonne ship offers a host of facilities and features on board, such as 22 lounges and nightspots.
Other amenities include popular Carnival food and beverage venues, including Guy’s Burger Joint and RedFrog Rum Bar.
In addition to Conquest, four Carnival ships have completed scheduled 2022 berths, while a fifth ship, Carnival Luminosa, is also currently in a European shipyard.
Transferred by Costa Cruises, the 2009-built ship is being converted into a carnival ship at Fincantieri drydock in Palermo, Italy.
Set to debut for the operator in November, Luminosa is getting Carnival’s new look, in addition to revamped public areas and dining facilities.
Completing the Carnival schedule for 2022, Carnival Miracle will also undergo maintenance and class work this year.
With Carnival Radiance taking over her itineraries, the Spirit Class ship is visiting a West Coast shipyard facility in October.
