When it comes to thinking of slot game titles, you have to hand it to the editorial team at Light & Wonder for coming up with this mix: Carnival Cow Coin Coin.
I mean, I don’t want to say there were psychedelics involved, but I don’t not I mean or.
Also: You can rearrange the words in any order of the title and it doesn’t matter one bit. Combined Cow Coin Carnival? Of course. Cow carnival combined with coin? Why not. Combined cow carnival? Absolutely.
In any case, this is the game that NJ casino app players have fallen in love with, as it ranks as a top-played slot across the board. This week, we turn to Ocean Online Casino to give the Carnival Cow Combo Coin … no, wait, I mean the Carnival Cow Combo Coin … that’s not right. Give it a second.
Carnival Cow Coin Combination. This is. This is what we’re going to give a whirl.
Moo.
facts
Okay, there’s a lot going on here.
The game is a sequel to Marvelous Mouse Coins Combo, which was only half as alliterative as Carnival Cow Coin Combo. So it’s not that.
Also, the RTP is 96%, the minimum bet is 22 cents, and there are many ways to win, including the old standby: Get three symbols in a row from left to right, win some money. A thing that looks like a golden bowl pays more, number 8 pays less. There are wild symbols that span the size of the row – it’s a 5×3 slot – and they come in the shape of a tree.
But this is just the appetizer.
Things start to get interesting when you land an “element coin”, which will be revealed to be either red, blue or green. And then those “coins” are deposited into ancient Chinese-looking bowls (which if I had a real one, I’d definitely look for Antiques Road Show the crew). These bowls can then be filled and easily burst, thus triggering a bonus round.
Important Note: There is no rhyme or reason to the exploding bowls. In my game, one coin can trigger the bonus, or sometimes it can get… well, apparently a million. The bowls get fatter and fatter with coins, but don’t fall. It’s clear that the slot machines are random, but this control view – cups fill, they get fatter – causes mild annoyance that they’re not exploding. Of course, this is mitigated when a coin blows things up, but it’s worth noting before you play.
As for the bonus rounds, the first is the cow feature, where a bowl appears. Then a cow starts spitting out cow coins, each with a cash reward. Red generates six to start, blue generates eight to start, and green gives 10 to start. Then the reels spin and you hope to place another coin. You have three chances to do this. If a coin lands, you win all the money in coins and can spin again. Get another coin, get all the money. And so on.
If two or more cups are opened, you can activate the jackpot feature, where you jump over the hidden symbols. The first three you hit, that’s the prize you win.
You can also be randomly awarded a red envelope at any time, which gives 38.88 times your bet, which is nice.
You can also buy your way into the base bonus game with 27x, 46x or 83x your stake (depending on whether you choose the red, blue or green bonus).
See AND feel
I assume what the developers are going for is that ancient Chinese vibe, and it pretty much delivers. The graphics give off that vibe and the music sounds like the “smooth jazz” version of what I imagine ancient Chinese music sounds like.
What’s more, it has a Pavlovian “sound”! every time you roll, which I’m sure could be the basis of 1000 page theses for PhD candidates in psychology.
It’s also pretty cool when the cups pop and explode. It takes a second or two for it to happen – a lifetime in online slots – and so when it does … yes!
Bonus rounds are surprisingly easy on the bells and whistles: They happen, you collect, the end.
Results
I played more than I expected. I won quite a bit, especially after hitting a jackpot feature. And the wins came at a good rate, maybe once every four or five spins on average.
It’s honestly one of the most fun slot games I’ve ever played. The graphics are easy on the eye, the music is soothing, and the thrill that comes every time a coin hits the screen – which is apparently about half the time – is real. Any coin can trigger the bonus, and when the coin goes all the way to the bowl, the prediction is legal.
Overall, I give this game four cows. Four coins? Four carnivals? It’s a combination, that much I know.
