Carnival Cruise Line is celebrating another milestone with the relaunch of its “Return to Fun” cruise, with 3,000,000 guests having sailed since. Carnival Vista I set sail and sailing resumed after the pandemic shut down the entire industry.
Impressive cruise numbers
Just less than a month later celebrating the one-year return to service, Carnival Cruise Line can now celebrate welcoming 3,000,000 wonderful guests on its fleet of 23 Cruise Ships. Carnival saw him The total number of guests reached 2,000,000 in May and has now grown to 3,000,000 in less than 75 days – an average of 95,000 guests per week.
“Carnival set the pace for the industry as the first major cruise line to return to full guest operations in the U.S., and we continue to lead the way as we have now welcomed three million guests who have enjoyed much-needed vacations.” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
These impressive increases come during the busy Caribbean summer season, when more families are setting off on memorable cruise vacations. To meet the pent-up demand for safe and economical getaways, Carnivals are striving for 110% volume on its ships this summer, welcoming families and groups to fill extra beds above the standard double occupancy measurement.
In addition to the extreme demand in the Caribbean, Carnival is also working to meet demand in one of this year’s hottest cruise destinations, the chilly region of Alaska. Due to the complete loss of the 2020 season and the shortened 2021 season, more and more travelers are looking for Last Frontier cruises this year.
Carnivals are providing it the largest ship deployment ever to Alaskawith three ships – The miracle of carnivals, Spirit of CarnivalAND The brilliance of carnivals – offering a combination of 49 sailing options for the season from San Francisco and Seattle. Approximately 100,000 guests are expected to enjoy and discover Alaska this year on Carnival cruises.
The most popular gates for the house
Carnival’s five busiest ports – PortMiami, Port Canaveral, Galveston, Long Beach and New Orleans – were among the first to resume guest operations and account for 77 percent of all Carnival embarkations, equaling an impressive guest total of 2,324,823.
Carnival has resumed sailings from all 14 of its ports in the United States, including year-round sailings as well as seasonal offerings. In October, more domestic international ports will be added to the sailing schedule as the cruise line begins to welcome guests to Australia again, with sailings from Sydney on The brilliance of carnivals.
“The economic benefit to our ports and destinations is also significant and we look forward to resuming cruise operations in Australia this October.” Duffy said.
In terms of number of sailings, Carnival’s hometown of PortMiami leads the way with more than 215 sailings to date. Invasion of carnivals, Dawn of the CarnivalAND Carnival horizon are offering a variety of cruises from Miami this summer.
The cruise line’s newest ship, Carnival celebrationit is scheduled for home from Miami when she joins the fleet in November.
Amazing port visits
It’s not just Carnival’s gate numbers that are impressive. In the past 13 months, the cruise line has made more than 3,000 calls to 92 individual ports in 36 countries.
Mexico saw the most visits, with nearly 800 – of which 385 were in Cozumel, the most popular port of Carnival cruises worldwide. Other cruise ports in Carnival’s top five to visit are Nassau (320 calls) and Half Moon Cay (155 calls) in the Bahamas, Amber Cove, Dominican Republic (159 calls) and Mahogany Bay, Roatan (123 call).
Across all of these amazing ports, travelers have enjoyed more than 2,000,000 shore excursions in the past 13 months, each of which supports local economies, businesses and retailers.

Despite these already impressive numbers, there is still one much to come for Carnival Cruise Line in 2022.
The cruise line is only a few days away waiver of pre-cruise COVID-19 testing for vaccinated passengers on short-haul cruisesand the phased change in testing protocols is sure to continue in the coming weeks and months.
Bright carnival will join the fleet in Octoberquickly followed by Carnival celebration in November, which will conclude the cruise line’s extraordinary year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary.
