MIAMI, June 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Carnival Cruise Line – proudly known as America’s Cruise Line – is merging with Costa Cruises – of Italy Favorite cruise line – creating a new concept for Carnival guests in North America when COSTA® by CARNIVAL® debuts in spring 2023 and Costa Venezia joins the Carnival fleet sailing from New York. Costa Venezia will be followed by Costa Firenze arriving in spring 2024 to sail from Long Beach.
Carnival will operate the ships, which will marry the excellent service, food and entertainment enjoyed by Carnival guests with Costa’s signature Italian design. “Costa Venezia and Costa Firenze will bring Carnival guests its ambiance and beauty Ital“, he said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We will invite our guests to choose carnival fun, Italian style!”

Duffy said the ships will continue to operate their regular Costa itineraries until they are assigned to Carnival for work and drydocking. Deployment and itinerary plans are being finalized, with Venezia’s announcement coming soon with a spring 2023 sailing date in mind. Costa Venezia and Costa Firenze are sister ships to Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Panorama, weighing 135,500 gross tons and accommodating up to 5,260 guests.
