Carnival Cruise Line is changing its health and safety protocols to allow more unvaccinated guests to sail and to allow vaccinated guests to depart without pre-cruise testing.

The new guidelines, which come into force on September 6, will allow unvaccinated guests to sail without having to apply for a vaccine exemption (except those sailing on cruises to Australia or voyages of 16 nights or longer). These guests will still need to show evidence of a negative PCR or antigen test taken within three days of departure.

Vaccinated guests will now be able to board without having to be tested, except on cruises to Canada, Bermuda, Greece and Australia, due to local guidelines, or on cruises of 16 nights or more.

Visitors under the age of five will not even need to show proof of vaccination for cruises to the United States. This age has been raised to 12 for Australia.

“Our ships have been sailing full all summer, but there is still room for more of our loyal guests and these guidelines will make it a simpler process and make sailing accessible to those who were unable to fulfilled the protocols that were required of us. to follow for most of the past 14 months,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

“We have a lot going on, with Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Celebration joining our fleet this November and more to come in 2023. Whatever ship, home port or itinerary works for you, our amazing team on board is ready to deliver a fun vacation – something we all look forward to even more these days!”
