Carnival Cruise prepares a second roller coaster at sea for passengers

Carnival will unveil the second BOLT on its new ship, Celebration.

Calling all adrenaline junkies: Carnival Cruise Line is preparing its second BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster ride for passengers, with tests taking place this week, the cruise line said.

The line will unveil the attraction on its new Carnival Celebration ship, which will debut this fall after construction is completed at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. The original BOLT, the first coaster at sea, is on Celebration’s sister ship, Mardi Gras.

“The recognition this incredible attraction has received since its debut on our flagship last year highlights the incredible work that went into making it a reality, but the most important thing about BOLT is, quite simply, fun,” Carnival president Christine Duffy said in a news release. “It epitomizes the great lengths we go to for our guests’ good time, and I’m eager to see this next coaster in service when the Carnival Celebration begins sailing.”
