Carnival events created with children in mind

After a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is back and according to festival organizers, it promises to be the mother of all carnivals.

The party season officially kicked off on New Year’s Day with Soka at Moka. There are a number of events planned to take place in the coming weeks with several options for children.

Here we have compiled a list of events designed with children in mind.

GLAM KIDS CARNIVAL JAM

This event is being hosted by Dj Ana and Ultra Simmo at Hasely Crawford Stadium on Sunday 5th February. Visit the event page for more information.

DIZWELAND KIDS JOUVERT

On January 29, Queens Park Savannah will come alive with this children’s event hosted by radio personality Tim Tim. Kids are told to come prepared to have fun with water, paint and dust while being entertained by some of their favorite soca stars. This event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

CARNIVAL CHILDREN VERY WONDERFUL FESTIVAL

Billed as the biggest youth festival for Carnival 2023, this event is a spin-off from the Kids So Amazing show hosted by popular artist and radio personality, Ro’dey. Organizers of the event say this performance, scheduled for February 4, promises to be the place where cultural education and entertainment will come alive. The action starts at 11:00 and lasts until 18:00 at the Five Islands amusement park.

THE ULTIMATE KIDS EXPERIENCE

This event promises to take children on a fun cultural journey with their favorite aunts and uncles. There will be two shows, the first in the South on January 28th and another show in northern Trinidad on February 5th. Visit the Instagram page for more information.

Here’s what we know about them:

GEM Promotions: Tomorrow Show for Kids Gems

This event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22. Tickets are $175.

YES Fest Kids All Inclusive

On Saturday 28th the Garden Theater at Queens Hall will come alive for this event which is all about young people enjoying Soca. The action is scheduled to start at 13:00. Tickets are $250 for children and $100 for adults.
