By Ruben Morales Iglesias: The Belize Carnival Association is changing the Official Route of the Carnival Street March in Belize City via the BelChina Bridge.
After reports that the Belcan Bridge is in need of repairs, the Belize Carnival Association had to use the only bridge that can accommodate the trucks used during the Road March.
The Carnival Road March scheduled for Saturday, September 3, will begin as usual at the corner of Neal Pen Road and Central America Boulevard.
Instead of going all the way to Belcan, the parade will turn onto Vernon Street, turn left on Youth For The Future Drive over the BelChina Bridge to Douglas Jones Street, past Cinderella Plaza onto Kelly Street. It then continues up Baymen Avenue turning onto Princess Margaret Drive to finish at the Marion Jones Sports Complex.
