TULSA, Okla. – A carnival was held to raise funds for kennels in Oklahoma.
The second annual Coonhound Carnival was hosted by Joesf Glaude Music and the Helpless Hounds. It featured food, games, pet costume contests, live music, vendors and more.
Amity Edwards, Founder of Helpless Hounds, explained what Helpless Hounds is.
“Helpless Hounds is a 501(C)(3) hound rescue in Tulsa, Oklahoma, we adopt nationwide, but we are a breed specific rescue for hounds and hound mixes,” she said.
Jennie Loucks, Vice President of Helpless Hounds, explained the appeal of the event.
“It’s just a fun, family, fur and kid event where you can come out, enjoy the nice weather with your dogs and get outside,” she said.
Edwards said her favorite part of the event was seeing the progress of the dogs they worked with.
“I love that our students get out because every dog that comes through our program is so special to us, and that’s the real reward, is getting them into their forever homes, but we love to see every dog,” she said.
