Carnival Releases Details on Epic 23-Day Seattle to Sydney Cruise

Carnival Cruise Line has released more details on the 23-day cruise from Seattle to Sydney on board The brilliance of carnivals next month. In addition to the mandatory vaccination and testing requirements, there are also guidelines for the use of masks on board, travel insurance and visa requirements for Australia.

Carnival also detailed the daily activities and events around the ships during the many sea days on board.

Health and safety priority during the 23-day journey

Carnival Cruise Line is taking no health and safety risks during the upcoming 23-day repositioning from Seattle to Sydney with The brilliance of carnivals.

Sailing on September 6, Carnival Cruise Line will only allow fully vaccinated guests on board, meaning all guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated and those older than 18 will have received their booster shot if eligible.

Visitors who have not been vaccinated or who do not plan to receive their booster shot, despite being eligible, will be denied boarding. All guests must also provide evidence of a negative medically observed, PCR or Antigen test for COVID-19, obtained within three days prior to departure. The brilliance of carnivals.

The Carnival cruise line will also make it mandatory for all guests to wear a mask for the first few days of the voyage, at least until arrival in Honolulu.

The only time guests will be allowed to remove their masks is when they are eating, drinking or in their cabins. Masks will also be required during the boarding and disembarking process.

The cruise line said the following about the return of the masks: “While the vast majority of guests on board will be vaccinated or boosted, and all will be tested before leaving Seattle, this extra layer of precaution will allow us to minimize the chance of a breakthrough case affecting more visitors and crew. Given the length of your cruise, our health experts feel this is the best way to proceed for everyone’s health and safety.”

Carnival Cruise Line will conduct mandatory self-testing for COVID-19 at various intervals during the voyage and will provide guests with free self-testing during the cruise. Only if Carnival determines there are no cases of sleeping between guests and crew will it decide to relax the mandatory use of masks on board.

Other protocols

Cruise lines have made it relatively easy to sail from the United States to, for example, the Caribbean and the Bahamas. Arrival in Australia will be much stricter than what has been common practice on board cruise ships in recent times.

All guests must have proof of travel medical insurance coverage for the duration of the trip at the time of check-in. The plan must include coverage for medical emergencies and have no exclusions for COVID-19.

All guests, except Australians, must have a valid Australian tourist visa before boarding the ship. This electronic visa can be applied through Australian Government website. Visitors can also contact the Australian embassy or consulate for more information. New Zealand citizens can apply for a visa on arrival.

Guests who do not comply with any of the health and safety, insurance and visa protocols will be refused boarding.

Long cruise, more than activities

Some people can’t stand sea days and others love the idea of those warm and lazy days at sea. Waking up late for breakfast, lounging by the pool, playing team trivia and walking until lunch is heaven for some.

Carnival has ensured that there is more than enough to do during one of the 17 days at sea. There will be a caricaturist, naturalist, lecturers, knitting workshops, comedy, cooking demos and ukulele classes. There will be three Elegant Nights during the cruise on Sea Day 2, Sea Day 8 and Sea Day 15.

The ship will make several stops along the way; these include Honolulu, Kailua Kona, Hilo and Kahului (Maui), Hawaii; and Suva and Port Denarau, Fiji. Carnival Splendor will arrive in Sydney, Australia, on September 30.

There will be no September 22 for guests on board. The ship will cross the international date line on September 21. This means that what would have been 00:00 AM on September 22nd is, in fact, 00:00 AM on September 23rd.

The voyage marks the return of The brilliance of carnivals in its typical cruising area. Last February, Carnival decided to bring The brilliance of carnivals back to the United States due to the ban on sailing down. Now the navigation has returned to Australia; the time is right for Splendor to return.
