ANGLETON, Texas (KTRK) — What was intended to be a fun outing for many quickly turned scary after a ride at a Brazoria County carnival went awry Thursday night.
The Brazoria County Fairgrounds ride, which was supposed to roll, got stuck leaving riders looking terrified as they hung upside down for nearly a minute.
Spectators at the fair said ride operators had to climb a ladder and kick the pole to get the ride moving again.
Brad Deleon, a member of the fairgrounds association, said a power surge caused a malfunction in the ride’s computer system and that they followed the proper procedures to restore the ride.
No injuries were reported among those trapped.
The fair continued for about a week starting on Friday, October 14 and ending on Saturday, October 22.
