Bright carnival is looking more and more like a real Carnival cruise ship as workers continue the whirlpool upgrades that have been going on for several weeks now. The newest ship in the fleet has already received a fresh coat of gloss, with a stunning new color that looks amazing.
The ship also floated again for the first time today as workers completed work on the ship’s hull, bow thrusters and propellers.
One thing I decide Bright carnival apart from the rest of the fleet is the funnel. While Carnival ships are known to have the iconic whalebone-shaped hull, Bright carnival it has a completely different design.
Bright carnival Dry Dock Update
The newest cruise ship to join the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, Bright carnivalis nearing full transformation into a full-fledged Carnival cruise ship
Workers at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy, they worked hard to complete a massive to-do list Bright carnival launches for the first time at the end of this year.
Carnival Cruise Line took owning the Spirit class cruise ship last month, with the ship operating for Italian cruise line Costa Cruises previously. Since the official handover ceremony at the shipyard on September 8, the yard has been a hive of activity, the results of which look promising.
The ship now has the new color of the Carnival cruise line. Introduced for the first time in Mardi Grasthe hull is now a navy blue falling from the bow near the waterline, bordered by thin white and red lines.
Contractors at the shipyard also completed the work that needed to be done on the hull below the waterline. Typically, during a dry dock, the shipyard will strip the hull of any growth that compromises the vessel’s performance through the water.
In the case of Bright carnival, all the paint was removed and the ship received a new coat of hull. The coatings will reduce the resistance of the ship’s hull through the water, reduce the required engine power and thus reduce fuel consumption.
Other work that has now been completed includes maintenance of the ship’s thrusters, which are used for maneuvering, and maintenance of the rudders and propellers. One area that looks distinctly carnivalesque, but in many ways doesn’t, is the funnel.
What happened to the whale’s tail?
Anyone who has seen a harbor and seen a cruise ship lying there instinctively knows that a Carnival cruise ship is inside because of the presence of the whale’s tail. The iconic whale tail has been a staple on Carnival ships since 1982, when it added one to the 1,412-passenger Tropicale.
However, 92,720 gross tons, 2,826 passengers Bright carnival it’s different. Instead of a whale tail, the ship has retained the funnel design it sailed with when operating under Costa Cruises.
Workers applied the new paint colors, a three-quarter cover of navy blue, white line and carnival red. So if Carnival is going through all the work of transforming the ship, why not change the funnel?
Bright carnival is part of a program called ‘Coast from Carnival.’ Carnival has decided to keep the original hull and many aspects of the interior design that they do Bright carnival distinctly Italian to distinguish the ships in the program from the rest of the fleet.
Bright carnival is not the only ship making its way to the carnival. Two other newer Costa Cruises ships, Venice Beach AND Costa Florencewill join 2,260 passengers Costa Luminosa in 2023 and 2024. Venice Beach will operate from New York, and Costa Florence will sail from Long Beach.
Bright carnival will depart from Brisbane, Australia, on November 6. From May next year, the ship will be repositioned in Alaska. Broadcasting at home from Seattle, Washington, Bright carnival will offer guests 7-night Alaska cruises.
