The City of Lauderhill will host a cultural celebration in honor of Trinidad and Tobago’s 62nd Independence Day.

On Thursday, August 29, “A Taste of Trinidad and Tobago” celebration from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM will be held at the Herbert Sadkin Community Center at 1176 Northwest 42nd Way.

The free public event, hosted by Commissioner Denise D. Grant, will feature a variety of activities, food, music and more, and will be dedicated to an appreciation for the culture and heritage of Trinidad and Tobago.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a special guest appearance by Trini Cooking with Natasha, who will be offering dishes featuring all the flavors of Trinidad and Tobago.

In addition to the many food options, festival goers are encouraged to put on their dancing shoes as they enjoy entertainment provided by African drummers, a Tassa band, dance troupes and a steel drummer.

The evening will close with a special musical performance by Shelly Sweetshells.

The event will also feature various activities and exhibits from local organizations and businesses.
