In celebration of our storied tradition of women’s sports, the Saint Joseph’s University Department of Athletics is proud to announce a fundraising initiative to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Title IX. The Women’s Varsity Athletic Fund creates an avenue to directly impact female student-athletes at Hawk Hill. Our goal through the Women’s Varsity Athletics Fund is to educate, celebrate and continue to elevate our women’s varsity programs at St. Joe.

Hall of Fame Class of 2022



Teresa Andreani ’02, Softball: Andreani graduated third in program history in hits, fourth in doubles, fourth in runs scored and fifth in runs scored. A three-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, she also excelled in the classroom; a two-time Academic All-American and three-time Academic All-District honoree, she was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Student-Athlete of the Year in 2001.



Nicole Antonini ’07, Field Hockey: Antonini, winner of the Class of 1950 Award for Most Outstanding Senior Student-Athlete, was a four-time first-team All-Atlantic 10 and three-time NFHCA All-Region selection; she graduated as one of the Hawks’ all-time leaders in goals, assists and points. She still holds a share of the program’s single-season assist record, set in 2004.



Debbie Bateman ’09, women’s rowing: One of the most decorated rowers in Hawk history, Bateman was part of the Varsity 8 boat that claimed the title at the 2006 Dad Vail Regatta and went on to compete at the Henley Royal Regatta. She would go on to lead the Varsity 8 to victory in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship and be named the conference’s Student-Athlete of the Year twice, as well as the recipient of the Class of 1950 Award.



Robyne Bostick ’93, women’s basketball: Bostick is a member of the SJU Women’s Basketball and Philadelphia Big 5 Halls of Fame after a distinguished career in which she helped lead the Hawks to four Big 5 titles. She earned All-District honors and First Team All- Atlantic 10 in 1994, in addition to being named to the Big 5 Player of the Year list.



Jenna Martino-DiFede ’10, Women’s Lacrosse: Martino graduated with the Hawks’ single-season goals and points records, while ranking second all-time in goals and points and fourth in assists. She earned a pair of first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors and was named to the All-Region First Team in 2009.



Casey Robinson ’14, Women’s Tennis: Robinson’s 66 career singles hits were a program record upon her graduation and currently rank third all-time. She was the first Hawk to earn three Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis All-Conference honors in her career, and her 25 singles victories during the 2012-13 season are tied for the most in a single season in program history. She would go on to be selected as the recipient of the Class of 1950 Award.



Megan Schutt ’07, women’s soccer: Schutt tied for the third all-time goals and points total following her graduation, and in 2003 posted the second-highest single-season goals and point total in program history while tying for the most second most assists in a season as well. That same season, she earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors after helping lead the Hawks to their first postseason appearance.



Sue Yagielski Kavanaugh ’96, Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field: One of only three Hawks to claim the Atlantic 10 women’s individual title, Yagielski Kavanaugh led the field in 1995 after a third-place finish the year before. She was a member of the Hawks’ 1993 A-10 women’s cross country champions and was the 1996 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Year as well as a Class of 1950 award winner.


In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, St. Joseph’s Athletics recognizes its influential teams, student-athletes and administrators who have helped shape women’s athletics at Hawk Hill.
