A video of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das talking about protecting themselves from financial fraud in case their phone is stolen by managing digital wallets like Google Pay, PayTM and PhonePe is being shared widely on social media.
However, this video has been changed. We found that the visuals of Das’ address were taken from a video from 2021, the audio detailing the process of protecting one’s wallets was taken from a video uploaded by a content creator Mausam Nagpal
Both of these videos have been merged to make it look like the Governor was sharing this information.
