TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Eli Gold, who has served as the voice of Alabama football since 1988, will be sidelined with health issues to start the Crimson Tide’s 2022 football season. Jim Carabinvice president and general manager of Crimson Tide Sports Marketing, announced Wednesday.
Chris Stewart, who directs the Tide’s football broadcast and handles play-by-play duties for Alabama’s basketball and baseball teams, will fill in for Gold in his absence.
Stewart will also take on hosting duties for “The Nick Saban Show” and “Hey Coach” radio air when it returns on Thursday, August 18.
