SUMMER 2022/23 – HOLY DEATH (Santa Morte)
“Death does not divide us, it unites us. What divides us is life” (Heinrich Heine).
There are many ways to cope with death.
Some believe in resurrection, reincarnation, and others like the pre-Columbian Aztecs believed that the dead came once a year to visit their loved ones.
Even today, once a year, Mexicans worship their dead with a party!
Where they prepared the foods they liked to eat, what they drank, etc.
With the arrival of the Spanish, this culture was adopted and spread until today, where Día de los Muertos is celebrated.
Inspired by this culture, we present a slightly different collection than what we usually show. Despite the summer, we will have a lot of black, but with light fabrics such as tulle, hollow cotton laisse, lurex, lace and canvas.
In the collection we will bring Santa Morte, which is represented in culture with different colors such as white, yellow, orange, purple, green, gold and red.
So we will have many of these colors in the collection. The most dramatic scenes hint at the spouse of the holy death in a super glamorous funeral.
