The first full Saturday of college football has finally arrived. Week 1 culminates with a jam-packed schedule of games stretching from noon ET through Hawaii’s 11:59 pm kickoff against Western Kentucky. Twenty teams ranked in the AP Top 25 will be in action with big matchups sprinkled throughout, so it looks to be a day filled with drama and history as the narrative of the 2022 season begins to take shape.
No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 8 Michigan and No. 13 NC State will help get the action started in the early window of the day. The Aggies and Wolverines are heavy favorites against Sam Houston and Colorado State, respectively, while the Wolfpack could be in for a test as they travel to face an East Carolina team that returns many key players from a 7-5 team. The afternoon wave of games brings even better goodies, including a showdown between defending national champion No. 3 Georgia and No. 11 Oregon, as well as No. 19 Arkansas battling No. 23 Cincinnati.
The evening program faces No. 7 Utah vs. Florida and No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 5 Notre Dame in marquee games with national implications. CBS Sports will be here every step of the way to update you with scores, highlights and the latest stories throughout the evening. All Eastern Times
