Beloved comedian Tommy Joseph has been admitted to the San Fernando General Hospital after suffering a stroke a few days ago.
His colleagues and friends have taken to Facebook to appeal for financial help on his behalf.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family with expenses, as he has been out of work since the pandemic began two years ago. Jozefi has been struggling with poor health for some time.
A comedy show titled Stand-Up with Tommy is scheduled for August 20 at Sensational Sammy Seafood Plus, Eastern Main Road, Arima. The show, which is expected to start at 18:00, will feature top artists, comedians and DJs. Tickets cost $200.

In a Facebook post, one of his co-workers said Joseph suffered a stroke a few days ago and a CT scan revealed another issue requiring emergency surgery. Reports indicate that Joseph has heart-related problems.
Another poster appealed to all of Trinidad and Tobago to offer support and prayers.
“Please let the authorities know that he is a cultural icon, please let us know that we need him alive and well. Minister of Health, can you look into this for our brother whom we love very much as a comedian. Please, someone in authority, help us keep our brother alive,” the poster writes.
They called to Joseph’s wife, Judy, but she did not answer.
