Concurso público no radar? Exame toxicológico é a exigência para muitos processos seletivos

The public tender has been a path adopted by many Brazilians in the search for a place in the labor market. And most competitions, such as ESA 2022 and ESPCEX 2022, require the submission of a toxicology test, an analysis that identifies the presence of psychoactive substances, drugs, in the body. At that moment, the candidate must turn to a highly qualified laboratory to continue, with complete reliability, the selection process.

“Currently, practically all competitions in the police area require this type of test: Federal Police, Federal Highway Police, Civil Police, Military Police and Municipal Guard”, explains the pharmacist Fábio Alonso, CEO of Contraprova Laboratory, in Niterói, a reference in supply of laboratory analyzes in the fields of Toxicology, Molecular Biology, Hematology, Biochemistry and Immunology.

When there is a request, the toxicological test analysis is one of the approval stages in the competition and has an eliminatory character.

How is the exam conducted?

On the day of collection for the exam, performed in the laboratory, samples of keratin (hair or fur) are collected, with a small amount shaved or cut close to the root. The sample is then sent for analysis of the material, looking for psychoactive substances, such as marijuana, crack, cocaine, ecstasy and methamphetamine, among others.

In the case of Control, negative results can be issued within 24 hours after the sample arrives for analysis in the laboratory. It is worth remembering that each public tender has a different notice. Therefore, it is ideal to read carefully or even receive the notice at the time of collection to ensure that all illegal substances are analyzed, as specifically requested.

Contraprova is accredited by INMETRO’s ISO 17.025 in the FORENSE FOR DENATRAN program and MTPS ORDINANCE 116, which guarantees compliance with internationally recognized forensic toxicology requirements and “Guidelines for the Examination of Drugs in Hair and Hair from Brazil” : Society of Toxicology – SBTox.
