Young people in Leicester who are receiving their exam results can use the city council’s Connexions service to get help and advice.
Tomorrow (Thursday, August 18), students who studied for AS and A-Levels will learn their grades, while next week, Thursday, August 25, GCSE students will receive their results. BTEC, T Level and City and Guild exam results will also be due next week.
Anyone who needs support with their future plans can arrange to see a Links adviser for help. Connexions is a specialist service providing advice on education, employment and training opportunities. It is based at the city council’s dedicated youth employment center at 2 Wellington Street in the city centre.
Simply call 0116 454 1770 (9am-4pm Mon-Fri) to book an appointment, or email inquiries to [email protected]
The city’s assistant mayor for education, Cllr Elly Cutkelvin, said: “I wish everyone the best of luck who will be getting their exam results soon. We know it can be an anxious and uncertain time, but if you need advice about your plans, or need to put new plans in place, our Connexions advisers are here to help.
“If you’re not getting the results you expected, a Connexions adviser can help you find out what your alternative options are. And if you’ve done better than you think, last-minute opportunities may open up for you that you might not have thought about before.
“Whatever your situation, don’t panic! Our trained careers advisors can help.”
Connections advisers have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the university clearance process, how to apply for internships and jobs and how to create a CV. They can help young people consider all the options open to them so they can make an informed decision about what they want to do next.
