Palomba moved from Italy to Miami in July 2020 during the operational hiatus. Reporting directly to Carnival President Christine Duffy, he succeeded Gus Antorcha, who became president of Holland America Line. His responsibilities include hotel operations, guest services, guest merchandising and guest care.
A successor has not been announced.
Former president Costa
Palomba came to Carnival after seven years in Genoa with Costa Cruises, which he led as president since early 2015.
According to a Carnival spokesperson, ‘Neil wants to return to a wider role and therefore he has decided to pursue other opportunities.’
Carnival expressed its appreciation for the “numerous contributions” Palomba has made leading the ship’s hotel operations team through the line’s successful relaunch.
‘Loyal and dedicated executive’
“Neil has been a loyal and dedicated executive at Carnival and we wish him well as he pursues his next opportunity,” the company said.
Prior to joining Costa as SVP of Hotel Operations and Guest Experience beginning in January 2014, Palomba was the Corporate Operations Officer at MSC Cruises following multiple roles ashore and on board, including positions in the hotel and deck and serving as second mate.
