Corey Lane sworn in as Minister of State in Office of Attorney General Loop Barbados

Bridgetown MP Corey Lane was sworn in as Minister of State with responsibility for Crime Prevention today, Wednesday 26 October.

Lane will now serve in the Attorney General’s Office, relinquishing his previous post as parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of People’s Empowerment and Elderly Affairs.

In a brief ceremony at State House, Lane was sworn in by president Dame Sandra Mason. Premier Mia Amor Mottley and Attorney General Dale Marshall were also in attendance.

This follows Prime Minister Mottley’s announcement of a cabinet reshuffle at the 83rd Annual Conference of the Barbados Labor Party on Saturday, October 22.

Former health minister Ian Gooding-Edghill will now become Minister for Tourism and International Transport, while Senator Lisa Cummins will take up the role as Minister for Energy and Business Development with responsibility for International Business and Trade.

Minister Kerrie Symmonds will remain Senior Minister for Productive Sectors, but as Cummins moves into his previous role, he will now become Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
