Special Victims Unit detectives in Brooklyn are searching for a violent creep who strangled a young woman and attempted to rape her Saturday morning.
Police said the 30-year-old victim was walking her dog in the area of Woodbine Street and Ridgewood Place in Bushwick around 8:25 a.m. on July 30 when the deranged perpetrator arrived on the scene and attacked.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect grabbed the woman from behind, put her in a choke hold and forced her to fall to the ground. Police said he continued to strangle the victim while simulating sex over her clothing.
But the suspect abandoned his attempt and fled on foot eastbound on Woodbine Road.
The event was reported in 83rd Precinct. The victim suffered neck and face injuries; although he initially refused medical attention at the scene, he later sought treatment at the Interfaith Medical Center.
Police described the creep as a 30-year-old man with a dark complexion and a medium build, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with black hair, a mustache and beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a rose design on the front, a black T-shirt, black shorts and black sneakers.
On Sunday, the NYPD released video footage of the suspect walking near the crime scene shortly before the attempted rape.
