In this week’s cruise news update, we have coverage from Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC Cruises. Latest developments on new passenger misconduct policy changes, protocols and exciting deployments.

Here we are with all kinds of sailing news from last week across major cruise lines. We’ve got a mix of stories today, including MSC Cruises’ largest-ever deployment to the US with five ships, new entertainment offerings at the upcoming Carnival Carnival celebration, Norwegian Cruise Line leads the way and drops all requirements, Carnival resumes operations down, and Carnival adds a fine in hopes of deterring misbehaving passengers.

Five MSC cruises to sail from the US

We start with MSC Cruises, which has promised the line the largest season ever to sail from American portswith five amazing ships to sail from various US cities in the 2023-2024 winter season.

The first to arrive will be the newest ship in MSC Cruises’ fleet, MSC Seawhich will debut in Miami on December 11, 2022. MSC Sea will offer 7-night Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Miami, visiting some of the most popular ports in the region.

Fantasia class MSC Divina will offer 3-11 night sailings from Miami during the 2023-2024 winter season. MSC Magnificaa smaller ship, the Musica class, will offer shorter 3-4 night itineraries, also from Miami.

MSC Seasidesister ship to it MSC Sea, will homeport from Port Canaveral beginning in mid-November 2023, offering cruises from 2-7 nights. Finally, MSC Meravigliathe first ship in the line’s popular Meraviglia class, will be based out of New York from April 2023, offering 5-11 night cruises to Bermuda or the Bahamas, Florida and Mexico.

Together, the five ships can provide getaways for 19,600 guests per cruise, based on double occupancy, or nearly 25,000 guests if all five ships were fully booked.

New fun to debut at the carnival party

New Playlist production shows include The Greatest Circus – an energetic and diverse story that celebrates self-discovery and acceptance. “Color My World” will be an artistic love story that combines street jazz, hip-hop, musical theater and ballet dance with the best songs from indie rock and pop.

Even more amazing entertainment is scheduled to debut Carnival celebration while the vessel is placed in service. Coming in December “Visual Symphony” – a high-tech visual masterpiece using the ship’s LED screens. In May, “Carnival Rio” will debut on board, which will be a lively parade of Brazilian extravaganza.

There’s so much to look forward to on the new Carnival cruise ship, which will debut from Miami, Florida on November 21 from the newly renovated Terminal F.

Norwegian Cruise Line removes all protocols

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced termination of all COVID-related claims from Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Now, the cruise line will welcome all passengers, regardless of vaccination status, without the need for any pre-sailing testing.

This update to cruise line protocols is now more in line with global health and safety requirements, as many popular cruise destinations have eased their protocols in recent months, including some of the more stringent testing and vaccination requirements.

For example, Barbados, St. Kitts and Grand Cayman have recently relaxed their entry requirements, allowing more travelers to easily visit those destinations without additional testing or paperwork. Similarly, Canada lifted all of its travel protocols from October 1.

This will be a welcome move for guests eager to navigate at a time when protected tests are becoming more challenging to find, as many testing sites have limited their hours or closed entirely due to demand. smaller for test results.

While the cruise line has now relaxed all of its health and safety protocols regarding the pandemic, any destination-specific requests that may remain must be respected and will apply to affected cruises.

Carnival cruise line resumes from Australia

The 113,300 gross ton vessel will now offer several different itineraries for guests, ranging from 3-11 nights and visiting a variety of exciting ports in Australia, New Zealand and more, depending on the exact sailing date and itinerary . .

The brilliance of carnivals, which entered the Cruise Ship fleet in 2008, can accommodate up to 3,012 guests in double occupancy and up to 3,948 passengers when fully booked. Sydney is the ship’s designated year-round port until at least mid-2024.

Carnival adds a fine for misbehaving passengers

In recent weeks, Carnival Cruise Line has amended and updated its Code of Conduct policy to clarify what types of behavior are unacceptable and why it is important to maintain a safe and respectful atmosphere for all guests.

The initial changes and clarification of the policy were in response to several altercations aboard various ships, including an incident on board. So Carnival now says any violation of the Code of Conduct can result in a $500 fine and reimbursement of expenses incurred by Carnival as a result of the detention or disembarkation.

There is no telling what the costs associated with detaining a guest during a cruise or removing guests before the cruise is over may be, but such costs can be substantial.

It’s important to note that the fine is not automatic, but “may” be applied to guests who flout the cruise line’s code of conduct with rude behavior, physical violence, curfew violations, and other misconduct.

The cruise line also recently enforced a fleet-wide youth curfew for guests aged 17 and over unless accompanied by an adult in their travel party. New passengers must be off the ship’s public areas by 1am. This change was implemented at the beginning of September 2022.
