The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Coaches Development Program heads to Jamaica after a successful run in Trinidad.
Coach Developers Keshava Ramphal and Brendon Ramlal, who are from Trinidad and Tobago, ran the CWI Level 1 and 2 courses alongside CWI Coach Development Manager Chris Brabazon.
The program, which aims to create a skilled and reliable network of trainers in the region, started in early 2021.
“We want to ensure that the same approach is offered throughout the Caribbean because, in the past, different countries sometimes did different things. Overall, we want to empower our coaches to become better teachers of the game,” said Ramphal.
“Our strategic aim is to make coach development more accessible and one of the best ways we can do this is by working alongside people with cricket knowledge on the ground in each Territory like Keshava and Brendan, who are in able to offer CWI accreditation courses and seminars as required. , to the highest possible standard,” said Brabazon.
“We currently have 18 Coach Developers involved in the program and the ripple effect this group will have across the West Indies Cricket Pathway is huge,” he added.
Ramphal was the video analyst for the USA Women’s U19 team during their unbeaten run at the CWI Women’s U19 T20 Championship in Trinidad.
