St. Catherine’s South Police have named dancehall artiste Silk Boss as a person of interest. This comes days after the police invited dancehall artiste Silk Boss to make an official report about his attack.
Silk Boss, whose real name is Rohan Reid, is being asked to report to Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch by midday on Monday. The Jamaican military released a message on its Twitter account saying he was a person of interest, but did not provide any other details about him.
“Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact the Portmore Police at 876-989-8422, the police emergency number 119 or the nearest police station,” the message concludes.
The police request stems from the attack on the artist by masked persons in a video shared on the Internet. The artiste has since done several rounds of interviews where he said he was set up by a friend who led Gulf Man gang members to attack him and his girlfriend Brii last month and threaten to kill him.
The artist said the men robbed him of $1.4 million in cash that he was going to use to buy a new BMW motorcycle. He also said the men seen in a recent music video were the ones who attacked him. He did not report the crime to the police and in an interview with his former manager Terro Don, the Montego Bay artist said the video was released to “tarnish” his name and destroy his career as men envied his style of life. he and his girlfriend (who is also his manager) lived. He mentioned specific details about his trips abroad to Canada and elsewhere and said that his former friends were jealous and hated that they couldn’t live the lavish lifestyle that he and Brii enjoyed and wanted to take trips with him. .
Meanwhile, Silk Boss continues to talk about the event. On Sunday, he released a new song, “Sorry,” that addressed the attack.
