A day after 10 people, including five children, were critically injured after an arch (drop tower) collapsed during a carnival at the Dussehra Ground in Phase 8, an FIR was registered against the organizers on Monday.
The festival, London Bridge, was due to end on 31 August but was extended to 11 September. The injured were admitted to Civil Hospital Phase 6 and Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Most of them suffered back and jaw injuries, but all are out of danger.
Soon after the mishap, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harsimran Singh Bal had said, “There was a big hit to the party as it was a Sunday. We are trying to find out how this happened. A case will be registered accordingly.”
Mohali deputy commissioner Amit Talwar said, “We will conduct an inquiry and strict action will be taken against the culprits.”
International drug racket busted in Delhi, Afghan man arrested
